Sometimes a good Uranus transit can push people to make bold moves. In a heartbeat.
They can't take it anymore; the pressure has built, and in an instant, the decision is made.
That's what happened in Cleveland this week when two head coaches were fired within 24 hours: the Browns' Hue Jackson and for the Cavs, Tyronn Lue, whose coaching led the 2016 Championship.
As soon as I heard about this, I immediately thought of the recent Full Moon conjunct Uranus. Uranus is the planet often involved in breakups, breakdowns and breakthroughs. Uranus operates so swiftly, you don't always see it coming; it can sometimes come as a shock. Did anyone see this coming? Yes. Sort of. The Cavs have not won a game yet this season, and the Browns - well, they're the Browns. But both coaches fired within 24 hours?! Now that's a shock!
Has this ever happened before? Two coaches in one city fired within 24 hours?
Actually yes, but more on that in a moment. ..
To the left is the Taurus Full Moon chart of 10/24/2018 cast for Cleveland Ohio. The full moon is angular, which makes it a bigger deal, and Taurus rules the 5th house of sports.
Within the 5th house is Juno, asteroid governing contracts. Juno is at the final degree of the sign, which represents ENDINGS. She is retrograde, suggesting previous knowledge that the ending was near. With the Brown's impressive losing streak and Lebron leaving the Cavs, endings were somewhat expected.
We don't need astrology to tell us that finances were the major influence in these decisions, but it shows up prominently in the chart with the full moon opposing Venus retrograde. Venus rules finances and in Scorpio, it's all about the exchange. "I pay you, you win the games; you don't win the games, you lose your job."
Venus also rules relationships; opposite Uranus, this often indicates breakups. Indeed. People are parting ways in Cleveland this week.
The one other time this happened?
December 26, 2002. Atlanta Georgia. (Source: News 5 Cleveland)
I immediately wondered if Uranus would be involved, and I was not disappointed.
There are a lot of similarities here.
To the left is a chart of the lunar eclipse of 11/19/2002, cast for Atlanta, Georgia. The lunar eclipse occurred in the sign of TAURUS, with the Sun in the 5th house of sports. And to clarify, a lunar eclipse is a full moon on steroids. So here we have the same lunation repeating itself with similar themes.
Eclipses are powerful agents of change whose effects can last for months after. Here, we get a double shot of change with Uranus squaring the eclipse from the 8th house - often associated with endings.
Another similarity is that VENUS IS RETROGRADE IN SCORPIO. The little "s" next to the Venus glyph indicates that she is stationary - ending retrograde motion and preparing to resume direct. Here again, Taurus is ruled by Venus in Scorpio, reiterating themes of exchange. "I pay you, you win the games; you don't win the games, you lose your job."
On December 26th, 2002 when both coaches were terminated, the Moon triggered the eclipse degree.
In both cases of 2 coaches in one city fired within 24 hours: Taurus Full Moon/eclipse, Venus retrograde in Scorpio and a strong involvement of Uranus. Boom.
And that is why I love astrology....
All the love,
“Chiron is experiential.”
I would agree with renowned astrologer Barbara Hand Clow, that to truly understand the gifts of Chiron, one must experience it for themselves. Most commonly known as “the wounded healer,” Chiron represents the wound that becomes our teacher. Over time, as we move from pain to peace, from disempowerment to strength, we transmute the wound into wisdom. If Chiron is strong in our natal charts, it suggests that we may be able to channel that very wisdom into healing work with others.
Chiron was unlike the other centaurs. With vast knowledge of herbal medicine, Chiron championed as a healer, sleep and dream specialist, a prophet, astrologer, musician and alchemist. Also skilled in hunting, archery and gymnastics, he was a mentor great warriors like Asclepius, Achilles, Jason, Perseus and Hercules.
With Chiron’s discovery in 1977 came the resurgence of homeopathy, energy healing, past life regression, interest in psychic and astral realms, alternative healing, kinesiology and more.
Chiron has an elliptical orbit, which causes it to spend more time in some signs than others. Chiron links Saturn and Uranus, combing practical skills and training with intuitive guidance.
Chiron in Pisces:
Chiron has been traveling in Pisces since 2010 and will stay through 2018. Together with Neptune in Pisces, we have seen an up-swell in yoga, meditation, alternative healing, and a push to legalize cannabis for healing purposes. Further, as Pisces rules hidden realms of consciousness, there has been a wave of entertainment featuring psychic, angelic, alien and otherworldly characters.
As previously stated, Chiron is experiential. I’ve been getting Chiron transits nonstop for the past couple years. And as I’ve come to discover, Chiron is very prominent in my natal chart as well. I am going to share two stories of Chiron exemplifying both ease and challenge. I must first preface that I went through a trauma that began in 2012 and put my life on hold through 2014. I attribute this trauma astrologically to Pluto and Uranus who ganged up on my sweet natal Venus while Saturn depressed my natal Moon. So, although Chiron represents the wound, he’s not always creating it. More so, I believe Chiron represents our evolving relationship to the wound.
Chiron in the Organic Healing Flow
In this chapter of my life, Chiron forms a harmonious Grand Trine with my Ascendant and my Moon. Grand trines consist of 3+ planets in a triangle, each 120⁰ apart. This aspect expresses as a flowing synergy of ease and cooperation. Each planet in a grand trine will typically share the same element. In my case, this is the water element, which is emotional, karmic and subtle.
In May 2015, Chiron first trined my ascendant; this is when I decided I would create my blog. I was ready to present myself to the world as an astrologer in a more direct way. This would prove to be very healing for me as it aligned me closer with my purpose.
Through the rest of 2015, and through 2016, I sought to rebalance my nervous system, heal PTSD symptoms, and slowly make peace with my past. Healing is a precious and delicate process which takes time; never is it easy, but things seemed to flow along smoothly. With trines, it’s not completely effortless. You must say yes and participate. The help was present and I moved through a huge chunk of multidimensional pain.
In the summer of 2016, our neighbor’s cat started coming over to hang out a lot. We became good friends with Garfield as his owners would disappear for weeks at a time. He was often hungry and starved for attention. We desperately wanted to give him a flea bath as we could tell he was really suffering from them. Both orange cats, Garfield reminded me of Rigel, the cat I had wanted to bring home with me from NYC, but the trauma prevented me from doing so. The loss of Rigel left a hole in my heart that Garfield was now beginning to fill─ but Garfield was not yet mine.
That Fall, moving trucks arrived at my neighbor’s house. I mourned my bond with this orange cat and made peace that I would never see him again. I rationalized that our house was too small for a pet any way.
Two days later, Garfield emerged from the bushes. Meow, meow, meow! He rolled on his back in the dirt and excitedly demonstrated how happy he was to see us. Who knows why, but he had been abandoned. We made Garfield a bed outside our door, where he slept until the snow arrived.
On December 1st 2016, Chiron stationed direct at 20⁰ Pisces (moving forward!) in exact trine to my Ascendant and to my Moon. It was that very night that we coincidentally given Garfield his flea bath and brought him into our home for the first night.
Garfield joined us on the couch as we wound down for bed. Blissed out of his mind, he purred loudly. For the first time in a long time, I looked around and had the feeling that all is right in the world. Everything is perfect and as it should be. I realized that it’s not just me and my partner anymore: we are a trifecta. This is my family now. After a long month of trying to elevate my spirits, I finally found the medicine I needed: helping someone in need… and experiencing something move full circle… the universe knows better than I do. The timing is always right. This experience showed me that I should never worry; Creation has my back.
The Effort to
We as humans always make excuses for our pain, and we just deal with it until it becomes a bigger problem. May 2017 was a very busy month and I finally hit my brink. I decided that I would flow with Venus and Mars and become gentler with myself in June. I decided I would begin a cleansing diet, and that I would finally address a pain deep in my right thigh that had been bothering me since 2013.
Coincidentally, I began seeing my chiropractor on the day that transiting Mars conjoined my natal Chiron! And as it turns out my doctor knows his natal chart well, and he confirmed that Chiron is indeed prominent in his chart.
Transiting Chiron is forming a grand square with 3 of my natal planets. That is, there is one planet at each corner, each 90⁰ apart. Traditionally, the grand square is considered very challenging, but can produce amazing results if you put forth the required action and effort. Chiron in Pisces squares my natal Uranus in Sagittarius (nerves, hip region), natal Chiron in Gemini (nerves again) and opposes my Mars in Virgo. Mars rules my career house and I would say that this pain is exasperated by standing a lot, but also, Mars rules action… might my yoga practice be affecting this too?
Chiron is much about process. Astrologer Barbara Hand Clow advocates that Chiron is the natural ruler of Virgo, which correlates with the “adjustment” aspect: the 150⁰ quincunx. I’ve done much contemplation over this healing process and I see her point very clearly. The work of a chiropractor requires frequent visits in the beginning─ small, consistent adjustments. Further, the doctor combines practical knowledge of the body (Saturn) with a spark of intuitive guidance (Uranus). This combination reflects the very orbit of Chiron which links Saturn and Uranus.
Between my first visit to the chiropractor, recalling that I was having so many Chiron transits and beginning my new diet, I realized now was the time to finally read an entire book dedicated to Chiron.
Then it hit me….
“I’m doing a ‘rainbow diet’…. and Barbara Hand Clow wrote a book called ‘Chiron and the Rainbow Bridge’…. !!!”
I immediately ordered the book.
The diet I had decided to do was inspired by Yogi Bhajan’s alkalizing all green diet. But since I eat so many greens, I decided I would eat the entire rainbow.
Beginning with a few days of all red foods, I would ascend through the color spectrum a couple days at a time. All in all, I spent about 10 days eating entirely plant based foods, abstaining from alcohol and meditating.
As a result, my excitement about eating was totally rejuvenated. I got more creative, quick-pickled veggies, made veggie burgers for the first time and tried new fruits and veggies I’d never eaten before. Additionally, a ton of synchronicity and magic spilled into my awareness, similar to the synergy of rainbows and Chiro-‘s I’ve described.
But after a couple weeks, my progress stalled. My doctor seemed a bit frustrated at the one visit, but I remain understanding that it’s really deep rooted. It’s a process. However, I am ready for it to go away already!
My partner and I went for a walk in the woods after a particularly emotional day. As we walked along a stream, we noticed a newly fallen tree bowed over the river. “Look, it’s leaves are still green,” I said. “Well its roots are still connected,” he pointed out.
I stared at the thick roots connecting the tree to the Earth. I contemplated the stress and strain they felt as the force of the fall yanked them. I thought of my sciatic nerves in my legs… and then the Plutonian experience I’d had around the start of this pain: my life was literally uprooted, yanked viciously away… I was that tree.
Later that week, I revisited the tree. It had moved down river. In time, the pain moves and the experience transforms. One thing that is certain in life is change. You might reach total vibrancy, success, perfect health or enlightenment, but one thing can change it all.
I recognize that my area of pain has everything to do with my root chakra. For now, I’m using the mantra “I love where I am at right now,” and “It’s vital that my roots feel nourished right now,” while I load up on beets, potatoes, yams, rainbow carrots, onions, ginger, garlic, peanut butter and turmeric! I have more exploring of roots to do.
Everyone around me is either having babies, dying, moving or traveling. As excitement overflows in the lives of others, I’m conversely trying to maintain content with exactly where I am in the now. Root deeper… As someone who’s always lived intensely, actively and ambitiously, it’s weird for me to do this, but I recognize how vital it is. And in many ways this is happening naturally. I finally feel that everything is in place. I just need to remind myself that my roots are being nourished each time I hear about someone else’s excitement.
More of that root chakra oil please!

Below are some images from the rainbow diet :
Someone asked me if the Cleveland Indian’s American League Champion Win was in the stars.
My answer: “of course!”
The chart for Cleveland, OH has Jupiter in the 5th house, which indicates a love for sports! Compared to other cities, we have many professional sports teams to our name. The 5th house is often represented by sports and artistry, while Jupiter makes everything bigger; thus, we have one of the most loyal fan bases in the entire country, as well as the Cleveland Museum of Art, recently rated 2nd in the country. Jupiter is also the element of belief, lending to our sports inspired slogans, “Believeland” and “Believe in Cle.”
This element has always been in our chart, so what’s triggering all of this success? Largely, transiting Neptune is conjoining Cleveland’s natal Jupiter! Neptune takes 164 years to orbit the Sun, which means that it doesn’t move very fast, and remains within a few degrees within any given year. Neptune stationed retrograde on June 13, 2016, conjunct our Cleveland’s Jupiter. The following Sunday, the Cleveland Cavaliers delivered the historic win, breaking a 52-year drought and earning us the championship!
Interestingly, Neptune is currently slowing down in preparation to station direct on November 19th, just 3 weeks after the 7th game of the World Series. It’s looking good, but it always comes down to the faster moving planets.
Last night, the Cleveland Indians became American League champions once again! The Sun trined our 5th house Pluto, expressing a readiness to shine in our power, transformation of identity and resourcefulness. The world is going to have to adjust its view of our city. The Moon conjoined Cleveland’s 9th house Saturn and opposed our Mars, which also carries elements of competition, sports and how we are seen by the rest of the world. The 9th house represents foreign travel and the game was in Toronto, Canada. Transiting south node on our Jupiter indicates a readiness to release the past.
Yesterday, Mars and Pluto were exactly conjunct, representing use/misuse of power. At the time that we won, Mars and Pluto were the highest elevated planets, at same degree of Cleveland’s 4th house cusp, which represents the homeland, the tribe, heritage, legacy and the foundational roots of our city.
When the Cavs won, transiting Jupiter and the north node of destiny opposed our natal Jupiter and conjoined our natal Chiron, championing a very healing win for our city. Chiron deals with wounds and overcoming them, while the north node propels us forward towards our destiny. Coincidentally, Mars was also the highest elevated planet at the time of the big win for the Cavs, representing sport, competition and war! The Moon formed a helpful sextile to our 5th house Pluto, again a readiness for change and skillful use of resources.
Overall, the Neptune transit to our city’s Jupiter represents a new era of faith and optimism in ourselves. While it was always there before, the difference now is that we know we have what it takes to win. The only caution here in being blinded by faith and idealism. This freshness of perspective is not just limited to sports. There is a lot of new growth here. Cleveland is repurposing itself and we are back on the map!
We have not won it all yet. There are up to 7 games left and I will not dive into the charts at least until the 3rd game.
I think we were destined to make it at least this far because a lot of attention is being called to our mascot, Chief Wahoo. While most Cleveland Indians fans adore the beloved mascot, many are challenging the obvious racism of the symbol, and subsequently, our team name. I think that when the whole world is watching, pressure is going to increase and more people will demand a change. Of course it will be another very controversial issue that divides conservatives and liberals, as usual.
The Uranus/Eris conjunction is happening now, and it only happens every 86 years. This conjunction is all about freeing of the oppressed, the fight for sovereignty and severing ties with the past. It’s revolutionary, progressive and willing to get its hands dirty for the sake of freedom. Eris’ rage is divine. She will wreak havoc on her oppressors through her subversive, calculating tactics. This is the goddess who caused the Trojan War and demoted Pluto from planetary status!
We are living in a time in which racism, sexism, fascism, oligarchy and oppression are huge topics once again. I feel that these issues are especially magnified right now, as represented by this conjunction, which will only happen once in our lifetime. It’s monumentally historic that all of the Native American tribes have come together in solidarity at Standing Rock. The cause at Standing Rock is probably the most important thing going on in our country right now, as its implications endanger what’s left of our beautiful Earth, and more direly, our water supply. There is NO replacement for water. Once it’s gone, life as we know it ceases to thrive.
This is why I believe we were destined to make it to the World Series. As exciting as it is for Clevelanders to cheer for our team, it also spurs a nationwide controversy over our mascot and name, in effect, continuing the conversation of racism and oppression. Attention needs to be drawn towards our Native brothers and sisters. Owner of the Cleveland Indians, Larry Dolan has discussed the “demotion” of Chief Wahoo. He is aware of the inherent racism and has already begun to minimize the symbol’s presence; however, he also faces the dilemma of disappointing those who adore Chief Wahoo. It’s understandably a tough call from his stand point, but ineveitably, Cleveland is eventually going to have to get the courage to change him. Some have proposed returning to the Cleveland Spiders.
For those who love Chief Wahoo, I propose that said love be extended to those people whom he represents─ the millions of Native Americans who have been oppressed, exterminated and institutionalized. And it hasn’t stopped! Just look at Standing Rock!
Should the Cleveland Indians actually bring it all the way home, I feel that people will be less resistant to changing the name. Cleveland will always be “the tribe.” We have so much history here of the Native peoples, from the Mound Builders, to the names all of our rivers and roads. But it’s time to get progressive, like “Progressive Field” (ironically). It’s time to strongly consider changing our name.
Uranus is the revolution. We can only go forward. We never tread back. There will always be resistors who lag behind the times. Our city is finally catching up and we owe it to ourselves to keep it up. We must progress forward.
In solidarity with Standing Rock,
and the Cleveland Indians,
I recently published an article regarding the rare and powerful Uranus/Eris conjunction. In my reluctance to make a negative prediction on my friend’s beautiful yoga website, I withheld predicting anything dreadful, and focused on the elements of revolution and sovereignty.
But the fact is that revolution is both ugly and beautiful… chaos is necessary to forge new order…
This past weekend, I attended a beautiful wedding between two young ladies. Just about any wedding will make me tear up because love is the most magical thing, and the ceremonious merging of two people in love is even more enchanting. Being that this was my very first gay wedding, emotional tides were extra high. “How beautiful that we live in a time and place that is evolved to the point of acknowledging everyone’s love.” There were many miracles to be celebrated that day. The weather was calling for tornados, but by the grace of the Goddess, the rain clouds parted, revealing a blessed blue sky.
As we made our way back home the next morning, we learned the horrible news of Orlando’s club, Pulse. Shocking, mortifying and sad, to say the least. Then we learned about the man who was caught harboring explosives en route to LA’s Pride weekend. “Where is all this rage coming from?” In the wake of last summer’s Marriage Equality act, it would seem like this community could finally begin to feel complete freedom. But now… why would someone would commit such a horrible act against this glorious community? I had much to contemplate, given the dichotomy of the weekend.
Every light has its shadow.
Every couple steps forward, there’s a step back.
Every action has an equal and opposite reaction.
I blamed the Uranus/Eris conjunction, which tightened to exactitude only a few days prior on June 9th, 2016. This is a major, rare and disruptive aspect which last occurred in 1928.
Uranus and Eris together indicate a period in which waves of people awaken to their divinity, to their sovereignty, and to that effect, will resist anything that threatens such. Uranus is a revolutionary, a catalyst of evolution and progress, while Eris is a woman whose wrath is purposeful, divine and destructive. These two planets will defend the underdogs of the world and liberate people from oppression; they will fight for justice, disrupting the status quo. Uranus rules lightning and earthquakes, bringing an element of shock and surprise, while Eris rules general discord and feminism. Both planets can harbor chaos and destruction in the name of equality and freedom. Eris is somewhat like Kali: anything outworn will be destroyed while simultaneously birthing something new.
However, Eris birthed a slew of miseries: Strife, Hardship, Pain, War, Murder, Manslaughter, Ruin, Oath, Starvation, Forgetfulness, Battles, Disputes, Quarrels, Lies and Anarchy. This past week, many of her children have regrettably made their presence known─ not just at Pulse nightclub, but in the political arena as well. People across the country stand united, infuriated over voter fraud and mainstream media manipulation. Hillary Clinton named herself the Democratic nominee. This too is a manifestation of Eris: a powerful woman who will stop at nothing. The Stanford rapist and his father have infuriated women everywhere. Her wrath is divine…this is just the beginning….
Let’s not forget that the Uranus/Eris conjunction arises in Aries, ruled by Mars. Under the rulership of Mars and Aries, we find adrenaline, adventure, battles, blood, bombs, bravery, chivalry, conquest, guns heroism, impulsiveness, lust, madness, manslaughter, military, passion, penetration, quickness, self-orientation, selfie-sticks, sexuality, sharp implements, sovereignty, valor, virility, and weapons (among many other things; every astrological symbol has it’s positive and negative expression).
“Aha!” This is why these issues of gun control, leadership, sex and sexuality are so huge right now. Uranus in Aries. There must be revolutionary reform, nothing less. A small change won’t reflect the magnitude of this archetype─ It must be a massive shift.
There will always be those that resist. Just like how some people have still clung to racism despite considerable progress. There will always be radicals on either side: Progressive radicals and resistant radicals striving to maintain the past. These resistors are fearful, and it manifests as hate.
Uranus is the planet typically associated with homosexuality. I saw a meme this morning stating:
“Congrats, murderer, you have turned the focus of the LGBT community, one of the most powerful progressive movements, onto the crumbling edifice of one of our country’s biggest problems, gun reform. I don’t know if you’ve seen what they have accomplished in the last 25 years, but these queens get shit done.” -Don Winsor
This quote pairs nicely with our astrological symbolism. Uranus in Aries is gun reform and perhaps the most effective movement yet will be primarily led by the LGBT community and their allies. Every time there is an incident like this, people get upset for a little while and then nothing happens. Perhaps this time, it can be different, yielding progressive results in the name of love. #LoveWins
Sometimes things have to get worse before they can get better. We can thank Eris: She is the raw exposure of the wound, screaming, “LOOK AT THIS! CANT YOU SEE THE URGENCY!?” Eris caused the Trojan War and her planetary discovery prompted the chaos of the IAU and the subsequent demotion of Pluto. Nothing Eris does is small. It’s large, ugly and demanding of change.
There are many wounds exposed in this country right now. These issues have been building over the past year as Uranus gained on Eris. People are angry and people are hurting. Ripping a bandage off is accompanied by a scream, but then at some point, people must gather around to figure out a solution.
Luckily, both Uranus and Eris are inventive, creative souls. Uranus’s discovery arrived in the midst of the scientific revolution and is therefore associated with such discoveries. Eris is the subvert queen. Let’s not forget the Trojan Horse, and also, Eris’ child Lies. For better or for worse, people are going to get creative. They will do whatever is takes to win (ahem, Hillary). Eris justifies her vengeance, like Robin Hood, raising the question: “Is it still wrong to steal from those who have stolen from us?”
One of my favorite astrologers, Eric Frances from Planet Waves mentioned the astrological correlation with Eris on the day that Steven Colbert subverted the White House Correspondents dinner! Via his TV persona, he delivered an epic, comedic mockery of all in attendance, particularly directed towards then-President Bush.
Since Eris represents both the subvert and the victorious feminine, it will be interesting to observe the remainder of this election. Will Hillary be crowned? Or will she be punished for secretive behavior? There’s the email scandal on top of voter fraud claims. Either could be the modern Trojan Horse.
So yes, Uranus and Eris promise revolution, but first we must be brave enough to look at the ugly severity of our wounds. We must put down the selfie sticks and get more creative in order to solve and transcend. We must have courage to challenge the oppressors and have enough will to change ourselves if necessary. Perhaps its necessary to get revved up enough to persevere on what may be a long battle. The people united together will be victorious.
****On a separate but related final note: as I am wrapping up this article to post, I notice a headline regarding yet another death in Orlando─ the snatching of a 2-year-old by an alligator, here in the wake of the Pulse massacre and the murder of the singer. This is an uncanny amount of chaos going on in this southern city. I looked up the chart of Orlando Florida (yes, cities and countries have birthdays too!) only to discover URANUS AND ERIS transiting the core of the chart, a very potent point known as the IC. The city is being shocked, startled, and awakened. It will be interesting to see what Orlando does to bounce back. As fate would have it, Mars, the ruler of Orlando’s IC, lives in the 8th house of death, regeneration, healing, and rebirth. Let’s see what happens in Orlando over the next couple of years.
May we ALL be awakened to the highest expression of LOVE, TRUTH and SOVEREIGNTY.
**For a personalized look at how Mars will work with you, check out my article on TheArtofYoga.org.
Mercury owns the title for most notorious retrograde, but what’s not as well known is that all of the planets in our solar system travel retrograde as well. This month, Mercury, Mars and Pluto turn retrograde. Out of these three, Mars will be the most influential. Here’s why: Mercury spends half of the year moving in and out of retrograde. It might not always be fun, but we are familiar with navigating the choppy waters of miscommunication, avoiding the purchase of electronics and so forth. Mars, on the other hand, only turns retrograde once every two years, doubling his usual two-month residence in each sign. His extended stay in a sign further emphasizes their respective signatures, while encouraging us to rework the domains in our charts.
Mars will begin his retrograde in the sign of Sagittarius, where cultural themes of foreign policy, xenophobia, religion and world view will arise. Student loans also fall under the domain of Sagittarius. Then we move into the realm of Scorpio, wherein lies a trove of buried secrets waiting to be uncovered. In recent news, impressive amounts of secret documents have already been released to the public, condemning their supporters. The truth never stays hidden for long. Scorpio rules shame, but also redemption. Mars turns retrograde on April 17th at 9⁰ Sagittarius, reentering Scorpio on May 27th; Mars stations direct at 23⁰ Scorpio on June 29th and finally makes his way to his original degree on August 23rd. It’s said that while the God of War is retrograde, “Those who start wars shall lose.” It will be interesting to observe how political combat plays out, in this regard.
The very next day, April 18th, Pluto makes his annual station retrograde at 17⁰ Capricorn. Here we have two very volatile and powerful planets stationing together in sky. The few days surrounding this event should be especially tumultuous. The other interesting thing to note is that Pluto will finally return to this degree at the time of the Presidential inauguration, in January 2017─ which is why I think it’s so important that we include him in our analysis.
Mercury retrogrades are in the Earth signs this year, urging us to reconsider basic structures in our lives, such as values, finances, health and career. On a collective level, this is “American values,” the economy, health care and the entire political institution itself. This month, Mercury spends some extra time in Taurus, wherein we take extra time to ponder our values and finances.
Let’s take a look at how these retrogrades will interact with the natal charts of our Presidential hopefuls:
The God of War may be the most lenient on Senator Sanders, as he was born during a Mars retrograde! Bernie’s natal Mars conjoins his Moon in Aries. Interesting that Mars is in his rulership, but it’s expression is goes in an alternative direction: he passionately fights for the underdogs of the world─ the poor, victims of prejudice, and particularly women. While Mars in Aries typically aims for glory, Mr. Sanders will always do the right thing, but without a care for pleasing the majority. He has always beat to his own drum, and should actually feel more at home while Mars is retrograde. Additionally, Mars moving in his direction may actually make him appear more electable to those who have doubted his potential to lead.
Mars retrograde will transit Bernie’s first house, influencing his direction and how he presents himself to the world. We may see Bernie adopt a new angle on the campaign trail. He’s a very practical guy, but we might see some subtle adjustments in his wardrobe. Whatever adjustments he makes in his personal presentation will affect how the people receive him, either increasing or decreasing his support. Mars will oppose his natal Saturn, representing added stress in his crusade against the status-quo. Hillary is growing angrier with Sanders’ victories. I believe that she will throw some fireballs here, and Sanders will be challenged to stay focused and keep his cool.
Mars also opposes his natal Uranus, who has the last word upon turning direct: this is a surprise of some kind involving relationships, his teammates and open enemies. Expect to maybe hear about who he partners with around May 27th and August 3rd. Perhaps this could indicate a running mate. There will be an element of shock or revolution here. This could also indicate something shocking that happens with his opponent, which would thus affect his campaign. Retrograde Mas also transits Pallas Athena (weaver of wisdom) in his first house, aiding in the revamping of new plans and strategies. Mars stations direct in sextile to Neptune, which could indicate a small victory or a dream coming true.
Mercury retrogrades in the Senator’s 6th house of health, work and routine. He may have to make adjustments to his schedule that are more supportive to his health. He’s been a busy guy, and perhaps some rest is in order, or at least not overloading his schedule. Mercury stations retrograde in a harmonious trine to his North Node of destiny in his 10th house of career and leadership. Mercury will station direct in trine to his Sun (also in his 10th house), and eventually return to trine his North Node on June 7th. All in all, if he makes the necessary adjustments to his routine, he should be rewarded.
Pluto retrograde trines Bernie’s Sun, forming a grand trine with transiting Mercury! Things are looking pretty positive here. Pluto will help Senator Sanders with resourcefulness, extra help from others and giving him his own boost of personal power from within. Pluto’s trine is ongoing, and probably represents his devoted (even obsessed) supporters.
Hillary Clinton is also a Scorpio rising, like Bernie Sanders. Scorpio rising indicates that people will either really like you, or really despise you. Scorpio is all or nothing, and tends to be tight lipped when they must. Hillary is notorious for keeping secrets. Secretary Clinton has a fascinating natal chart worthy of a whole separate article. Notably, Mercury is stationary in her chart, neither moving forward or back; this could indicate why she changes her position so much, as she’s not sure which way to go! It’s unclear if the Mercury retrograde will favor her or not, because her natal Mercury doesn’t know which direction its going either. As in Bernie’s case, Mercury will also retrograde in Ms. Clinton’s 6th house of health, work and routine. Adjustments will be made to optimize her schedule, and to maybe even address some health issues.
Also like Senator Sanders, Mars will also retrograde within Hillary’s 1st house, re-configuring how she presents herself into the world. As mentioned, we may witness a change in her angle of attack, as well as in her appearance. Jupiter is positioned extremely strong in her 1st house at 0⁰30’ Sagittarius, which reflects her ardent involvement in politics, global companies and the UN. She is a worldly woman, for sure, with plenty of experience engaging with other cultures. Some praise this experience, and others criticize her involvement. Mars will retrograde back and forth over her Jupiter around May 27th and June 29th. This can be a very positive transit, boosting energy, even to the point of grandiosity. Watch for changes pertaining to her stance on foreign policy. Clinton is currently under serious investigation for the content of her secret emails; Mars transiting her Jupiter will develop this story further, even potentially altering her political identity.
(***It can be noted that May 27th and August 3rd) are triggers to both Bernie and Hillary, since they both have planets at 0⁰, in opposition to one another. Prior to turning retrograde, Mars already triggered 0⁰ on March 7th, when the two democratic nominees debated in Flint Michigan. This is when tensions began to get heated.)
Mars stations direct on Secretary Clinton’s South Node of past karma, where “you reap what you sow.” She will either be rewarded for her efforts, or patronized for something she did wrong. Whatever the case, it will affect her public image, for better or for worse (June 29th). Mars retrograde inconjuncts her 8th house Uranus, which indicates pressure to adjust her shared resources with others. This most likely reflects her wealthy corporate investors. She has accused the Sanders Campaign of lying about her corporate sponsorships. She will either have to prove the Sanders Campaign wrong or come clean about her financial endorsements.
Mercury stations retrograde on her North Node, which could indicate a small fall from grace, at first. It goes not a second further, which doesn’t help; it is astonishingly partile to the minute. Mercury stations direct on the midpoint of her Venus and Chiron; she would do well to reach out to women who are in unfortunate situations. When Mercury returns to her North Node around June 27th, there will be a revitalization. Someone significant will endorse her or some redeeming information will arise. Mercury rules the media, so there could be a media stunt that is well received here.
Pluto sextiles her natal Venus, which is a nice aspect of empowerment and leadership. This makes her appealing to the women who she has promised to fight for. However, Pluto also inconjuncts her natal Pluto, which indicates a misuse of power, or an imbalance in the flow of her energy. An adjustment will be in order.
Trump will also be urged to make minor adjustments to his image and how he presents himself to the world. However, Mars will mostly affect his home, family, ancestral roots and his past. Commotion began when his famous tweet compared his wife to rival Ted Cruz’s; this occurred right as Mars transited his natal Lilith in his 4th house (Lilith is the wild woman archetype who refused to lay with Adam). I suspect we will hear an addendum to this story around May 11th and August 16th. I wouldn’t be surprised if Melania did something rebellious. Mars squares his Mars, which will encourage even more impulsive behavior, affecting his entitlement and his ego, creating upsets in his wake. His pride will either take a hit, or spiral into delusions of grandiose.
Mars will station direct in harmonious trine to his Venus/Saturn conjunction, which indicates helpful contacts who are either female or wealthy. Perhaps his female family members will rally around him stronger than ever.
Now, if the saying is true, that those who start wars shall lose (during Mars retrograde), then Trump should sruggle the most out of everyone.
Mercury stations retrograde just one degree shy of Trump’s Midheaven, drawing more controversy over his reputation. But mostly, Mercury retrogrades his 9th house of foreigners, philosophy, law and dogma. You don’t have to study astrology to predict him: he’s going to preach overzealous dogma, offending people left and right. Most interestingly, over the course of the retrograde, Mercury will form a yod (aspect of destiny), inconjuncting both his Juno/Chiron conjunction (rage against the feminine), and his Moon/South Node in Sag (rage against feminine, foreigners). He will have the opportunity to heal his own wounds around relating to women; however, we will most likely see tantrums and continued disrespect to foreign nations and women. Humiliation will hurt his pride more than anything else, and it may be dealt by a woman. By the looks of it, I wouldn’t be surprised if the shaming comes from his wife, daughter, or someone else close to him.
Pluto squares his natal Jupiter in his 2nd house; herein lies a choice. Either to squander and abuse resources to the fullest, or answer to the pressure to expand world view. This transit could make his money bag even fatter. Watch for changes in his finances, values, and within the law.
Cruz has an interesting natal chart as well. He comes across as the nice guy from down the street. But don’t be fooled by his charismatic demeanor (Libra rising); Cruz was born on the darkest night of the year, in the middle of the night. There is a depth to him that most people can’t recognize. He’s always plotting his next move, with strategy and containment. He’s got a degree in “killing with kindness,” as we bore witness with his tactful response to Trump’s tweet about his wife.
The other interesting aspect of his chart is that he was born during Mercury retrograde; indicating that his mind operates non-linearly. He speaks and thinks in circles─ in ways that not everyone can understand. During Mercury retrograde, he will make more sense to people and perceived as a more dependable, consistent leader. He will be able to communicate more clearly during this time. He will navigate the Mercury retrograde better than any other candidate.
Mercury passes over his Saturn/Juno conjunction in Taurus three times: April 17th, May 12th, and June 1st. This configuration represents his unwavering dedication to his wife and values he holds dear. This configuration also enhances his dependability to stand firm in his convictions. On these dates, we can expect to see themes in regards to his consistency, loyalty, strong Christian values, but also, his wife, shared resources, finances and endings. His reputation can be strengthened as someone who is reliable and trustworthy.
Headlines reported “Ted Cruz’s horrible week,” when Mars conjoined his natal Jupiter as the end of February. His campaign appeared to be endangered when he fired his campaign manager and lost Nevada. In the following weeks, he bounced back with some good luck (Mars conjunct his natal Neptune and Vesta). It was then that he garnered a big win in his home state, Texas, and was endorsed by Fiorina.
Mars will return to these points of good fortune May 16th-23rd, most likely attracting more support from focused republicans who are against Trump. It will be interesting to see what happens when Mars triggers his Jupiter again June 10th-13th, and coincidentally during the RNC, July 18th-24th. I predict that this will add vigor to his campaign. His natal Jupiter squares both his Nodes of destiny, promising only choices: some will hold him back, and others will propel him forward. With Jupiter, we will see big results in either direction.
Pluto trines his Saturn/Juno conjunction, which can enhance his stature as a reliable man of values. Pluto also squares his Libra Moon, which could mean big changes for the women in his life. It may also force him to reevaluate being “too nice.” To win against Trump, he may have to get more aggressive.
I’ve tried to remain somewhat neutral here, but perhaps my bias even penetrates my astrological lens. However, I predict Bernie will most successfully ride these waves. For a few reasons:
1) He’s the only candidate whose nodes aren’t aspected in a challenging way. Mercury makes 3 helpful trines to both his Sun and North Node of destiny, which are strongly placed in his 10th house of leadership. Hillary and Cruz get action on both nodes, potentially garnering a fall or a rise, although Hillary is almost guaranteed to fall. Donald’s South Node is negatively affected. Both Hillary and Donald will reap what they sow, for better or for worse.
2) Bernie has Mars Retrograde natally, so he should fare well during this period. Cruz is second in line, because he’s going to handle the Mercury retrograde best.
3) Unlike Sanders, Trump and Cruz, Clinton receives zero helpful trines from the retrograde planets. Bernie receives the most positive aspects, and to some of the strongest points in his chart, at that (trines to his 10th house Sun and North Node, indicating a destiny to lead). Trump and Cruz receive some helpful trines as well, but no aspects as strong as Bernie’s.
Now we just have to wait and see!
The house is shaking from thunder,
Vibrating a transformative murmur.
Things are coming to a close;
The winds of change madly blow,
"It's time to let go, time to let go...
Let got of what no longer serves you;
Make the break, strip away the old you.
Outgrown the old, you are a new you;
Step aside and reveal the true you."
I'm sick of all the suffering, I've had it with all the loss,
I know its all a part of the great circle,
But I've really had enough.
I'm angry at the world, but
Angrier that I have anger
Was once a peaceful person,
But the world's learned me to suffer.
We were karmically connected,
But not the way I'd once thought.
You've scarred, raped and abused me,
Left my body to rot.
I wonder what I did to you,
in a past life now forgot?
To deserve this punishment,
betrayal, pain and loss...
Shedding like a snake,
Peeling all the layers back.
This is me: raw and peeling,
Itching to be free.
All that's old and fading,
Shedding my skin.
All that's new and liberating.
The Eternal Serpent,
Timeless and healing,
Quetzequatl and Hermes
The Eternal Serpent,
Fertile wisdom, Kundalini
Kali-Ma, Adi Shakti
Pluto transits are usually the most transformative out of any transit. The are slow, grueling periods of catharsis. Deeply psychological, these transits are usually accompanied by either violation, loss, trauma, humiliation, shame or guilt. Something will happen that will trigger these feelings. It's easy to feel like everything is slowly crumbling away, or that there is a greater force against you. This is true, that force is called "death." Nothing lasts forever on Earth. Everything changes. Empty handed we come, and empty handed we will go. We easily get attached. These Pluto transits are useful because they remind us that we can get on just fine, no matter what, even without the thing that brought us comfort, security or joy. These transits show us our power; but first we feel powerless. Change is the only constant in the entire universe (as we know it!)
There are two choices in a Pluto transit: obsession or surrender. Some people will grasp onto the past. It's hard to accept the change at first. We can obsess over the person who hurt us, for example, or the painful memory that we cannot change. The other option is to surrender to the greater force of the universe: the giver of life and death. This is why many people have spiritual awakenings as a result of a Pluto transit, possibly combined with a compulsive desire to understand. For me, I became obsessed with astrology when Pluto squared my natal Sun. This was both because I wanted to understand the rhythms of the cosmos, and so that I could better understand how to navigate the tides of life.
Pluto, the Lord of the Underworld, has great talent of uprooting. Things that we've buried have a way of emerging from the grave. Also, we notice when our belongings, connections or habits get really old. We might ask ourselves if we should continue in that vein. We know what we need to do, and if we don't act on our own accord, the universe will choose for you. Pluto will take away what is toxic or outgrown. It might be tough, but he ultimately wants to empower you. We may have a compulsive desire to purge the old and make way for the new, by way of physically cleaning house or even mentally cleaning the attic. Often people seek out a therapist or healer during this time, to assist with the purging process. Sometimes, we have to admit to feeling powerless alone, to seek empowerment elsewhere in the community. After a while, we find that it actually feels really good to release. We are ultimately making room for brighter light to come into our lives. We will often be pleasantly surprised and one day find ourselves grateful that everything happened the way it did. "The Ecstacy of Healing," is a very real experience.
As I previously mentioned, we become severely aware of our mortal limitations. This may inspire one to become the best version of themselves moving forward. We will inevitably shed our skin. We might say, "I will never be that 'me' again, but I will become a wiser, stronger, more grateful 'me.'" Pluto is the modern ruler of the sign, Scorpio, who is not only embodied by the scorpion, but also the eagle, the serpent and the phoenix: It will sting like a scorpion, then we will focus like an eagle, we will shed like a serpent and reborn, we will rise from the ashes like a phoenix. From darkness to light, Wahe Guru.
Around Christmas, I had plans to spend January holed up inside, resisting alcohol and take-out. I imagined myself steaming kale every night, reading, saving money and working towards my goals.
Venus entered the grandiose sign of Sagittarius on December 30th, 2015. Venus is our pleasure principle, governing our relationships, values, money, and what we like or don’t like. The sign Venus is in influences our tastes. In the expansive sign of Sagittarius, Venus likes indulging to excess. On a bad day, she can be a voracious glutton, compulsively consuming expensive cocktails, turducken and macaroons. That’s probably the worst case scenario. Maybe we just have a serious craving for fatty, sugary, exotic or expensive foods. Venus in Sag doesn’t care about the price tag, as long as it quenches her desire. “Because I want it,” she nonchalantly rationalizes.
As it turns out, I’ve attended four going away parties since January 2nd, 2016 (none of which will be permanent since Mercury is retrograde), and of course all of these events involved going out to a bar. Plus, I’ve had insatiable cravings for pizza, as well as other favorite dishes from my favorite restaurants. Last week, I ate pizza for dinner 5/7 nights. I can at least reason that one of them I made at home with vegan cheese and lots of veggies, but still.
Venus in Sag also loves games and gambling. Sagittarius can never have too much fun. How interesting that the Powerball has been such a hot topic! Inflated numbers at that! Just as I’m writing this article, I realize that my newly rekindled love for solitaire is no coincidence. I’ve been playing the shit out of that game all week!
Venus finally leaves Sagittarius for conservative Capricorn on January 23rd. By then, it should be much easier resisting the urge to excessively spend, go out, and enjoy too much take-out. When Venus is in Capricorn, we must earn our enjoyment. It’s not automatically deserved. That means steaming kale Monday through Friday, and then eating out on the weekend, for example. Venus in Capricorn is more goal oriented, loyal and focused on the end in mind. Here, Venus doesn’t care so much about the price tag; she can survive on the raw basics or treat herself. What it comes down to, is “how will this serve the end goal? How is this useful?” Venus in Capricorn has the ability to be more discerning. She has an easier time saying “no.” So if sticking to a new diet plan has been difficult, don’t give up just yet!
Venus entered mysterious and private Scorpio on Friday, but I didn't really feel it until the Moon conjoined with her on Monday.
The Moon illuminates. And often when a planet changes signs, we don't notice a shift in energy until the Moon highlights it.
Just some observations: I noticed that on Monday, I holed up inside all day, recovering from the weekend. I did not leave the house until later in the day when my boyfriend and I went on a hike in a new area of the Metroparks. It just happened to be a trail along a wetland swamp.... Scorpio is a water sign and rules the murky dark waters, hiding a trove of riches beneath.
The following day, I went to work. When I'd left on Saturday, I had a FULL book of clients. But by the time I came in yesterday, I learned that 3 people had rescheduled. No big deal. Then 3 people no-showed. This never happens. I only did ONE haircut yesterday!! Unbelievable! I'm not sweating it though because I understand why: people went into hiding with Venus in Scorpio, conjoined with the Moon in Scorpio! People were subconsciously tuned into the energy, craving privacy in their thoughts, solitude, and time to recharge their batteries.
Scorpio is all or nothing: if you don't feel like doing something this month, you probably won't.
During this time, we will be exploring which of our commitments are worth our time and energy, and which activities aren’t worth our energetic investment. By the end of the month, we may decide to release that which we aren’t wholeheartedly passionate about, simultaneously committing harder to that which brings us more joy, empowerment, or even to that which is more lucrative.
Venus will remain in serious Scorpio until December 30th, when she enters party-time Sagittarius. New Years Eve should be a blast! Beware of going to excess because Venus can be very indulgent in Sag.
One Love, One Planet
As an astrologer, it’s my nature to notice patterns. Fortunately, my day job as a hairstylist allows me to encounter several people each day on a very personal level; thus, I am able to observe astrology through the experiences of others.
Yesterday, three of my five salon guests brought up the subject of dogs.
“How curious…” I knew that I would go home and try to figure out what this was stemming from. I had a sense that Mercury would somehow be involved because Mercury rules pets.
My first thought was to turn to my ephemeris to see what aspects were of influence that day. Sure enough, Mercury was forming a sextile with Saturn, with the Moon in between, semi-sextiling each of them!
Mercury and Saturn, working together to form a structure:
Laura* went on to explain that their family dog of the last 14 years passed away in September; the following week, the family went to the animal shelter and adopted a new dog. This, of course, made her two young kids very happy. It was immediately apparent that this new dog too, was ill. After a visit to the vet, it was discovered that this new dog had a terminal illness. Laura’s policy with her children is that “any truth is always better than a lie,” so she and her husband explained to their children what was happening with their pet. Three weeks later, the new dog passed away.
Jeez! So now I’m thinking Pluto, who just stationed direct at 13⁰ Capricorn, on September 25, right around the time that all of this was going on for them. Pluto rules death and transformation.
Laura and I have discussed astrology before. In her family, her husband and her daughter are Cancers, and in the sign opposite, Capricorn, is her 4 year old son, Liam*. “What is Liam’s birthday?” I asked.
It immediately became clear that Liam was experiencing a Pluto transit to his natal Sun. I cut Liam’s hair too, and the thought of this precious little one being exposed to these big lessons of life and death, impermanence and transformation, made my heart swell. I explained all of this to her, that this is a “readiness” in Liam’s chart to understand these lessons. “Yes! Liam went to school the next day telling all of his classmates that one day they are all going to die,” she smirked, shaking her head, “but, I mean, he’s right. He also comes home and pays special attention to our family cat, saying 'you're still alive!'.” We discussed how by experiencing the impermanence of life, Liam is noticeably more appreciative of all the loved ones in his life. “The cat doesn’t seem to mind!”
I also told Laura that often when a young child experiences this transformative transit, that sometimes it’s the father who is undergoing metamorphosis, and her son would therefore be informed by witnessing this change. She was able to confirm that her husband is making strides to improve his health, among other personal advancements. (In this case, the father himself, as a later degree Cancer, is experiencing a Uranus square Sun transit. He feels an urge to break his routine, improve himself and try new things: he feels awakened. He does not feel the simple existential depth that his son feels. They are experiencing the same events differently, based on their perception, and, as reflected by the various planets interacting with their respective charts.)
Wow. Even after consulting my ephemeris and confirming the alchemy of Mercury/Saturn, I was still curious.
Sirius, the Dog Star.
I wasn’t sure of the exact degree off the top of my head, so I looked it up.
Sirius is found at 14⁰Cancer 17”…. My mind is officially blown….
Right now, Pluto, (planet of death, transformation, discovery of personal power and evolution) is opposing Sirius, the “dog star.”
Sometimes astrology is that literal.
With Stars, we use a 1⁰ orb. Pluto is opposing Sirius:
January- December 2015
Pluto is in Capricorn, answering to Saturn in Sagittarius, sextile Mercury, which was illuminated by the Moon on Tuesday October 13th, 2015.
In astrology, we are never done learning... And we don’t even necessarily need books to do so!
This doesn’t mean that every Capricorn is going to lose a pet this year, but if you are born in early January, you will be receiving lessons of Pluto in some form nonetheless. I can’t necessarily predict how without seeing your chart; even then, astrology predictions are only 20/20 in hindsight. All I can say is metamorphosis. You are entering a cocoon and soon you will become a butterfly. We all experience Pluto at some point. It’s to show us that we were wrong: that we carry unlimited potential to rebirth ourselves again and again; that tragedy makes us stronger, wiser; and that something bigger than ourselves is at work. However humbling that may be, we also feel a sense of power. You cannot reach the reservoir of riches if you don’t dig deep.
“The dogs medicine is loyalty, reliability, nobleness, trustworthiness, unconditional love, friendship, fierce energy of protection and service. People who have Dog as power animal are usually helping others or serving humanity in some way and have a deep understanding and compassion of human shortcomings. Dog serves selflessly, never asking for their service to be praised or anything in return. He is sensitive and intelligent. From him we can learn the true meaning of unconditional love and forgiveness. Domestic dogs are faithful companions to humans with a strong sense to serve. Their ability to love even when abused is incredible. Psychic gifts have been associated with Dog because of his talent to pick up on subtle energy frequencies generally unknown to mankind. Like other animals they can feel for instance if an earthquake is about to occur, and can lead us to safety, if we trust them like they trust us.”

Love, Peace and Enlightenment to All...
I did a lot of mourning while Saturn was in Scorpio…
Sagittarius encompasses what comes thereafter the mourning process: the solace one finds after processing that which has occurred into a grander context. Trauma becomes a teacher; loss is understood in the context of the “Great Circle;” there is something bigger than ourselves at work here. Scorpio is the transformation, the death and rebirth; Sagittarius is the understanding, the bigger picture. The transition between the two signs says, “A part of me died, but I did not die.”
I’d like to share a personal experience. Like many others, the last few years have been very challenging. I lost a lot and I was forced to transform under harsh conditions. Recently, I’ve been finding much joy and gratitude in my new life. But I knew there was just one more blockage to push out of my heart chakra to feel like myself again...
My younger brother married the love of his life this weekend. Seeing them so happy, surrounded by all of their friends and family, and seeing all of their hard work and creativity that came from their hearts to create this special day….I found my heart overflowing with love.
My brother is a Sagittarius rising. He is a visionary. Jupiter has greatly blessed him, for he is good at almost anything he does. That’s the vision the archer holds as he gazes upon his target. From skateboarding and music, to sculpture, and now to love and architecture, when my brother hones in on something, he achieves it.
My brother walked down the aisle and stood waiting for his bride under the arch that he built. In his eyes I could see the young visionary I grew up with, now as a man, whom he has become by the grace of his amazing twin flame. The great circle moves to the beat of the heart…
Their vows were so beautiful─ ornate and precious extensions of the heart. And both of their vows carried a Sagittarian vibe. My brother said something to this effect: “We meet here on top of the tallest mountain we’ve ever climbed…around us we see many peaks of other mountains. Some will be taller and more difficult to climb…I know you will be excited to climb them, and I will be excited to go with you.” Michael and Wesley are both insanely creative visionaries. They deserve each other more than anything, and their love is inspirational to all.
Sagittarius is the celebration of life, and seeks to find meaning of it all. The Maid of Honor said in her toast, “Last night we were all joking ‘What’s the meaning of life?’ But I looked around and I realized that this, this right here, is the meaning of life. To see my best friend happier than I’ve ever seen her, being walked down the aisle by her beloved grandfather who has influenced her life so much. Here, with her mother who has done a superior job of raising my awesome and totally weird best friend; here, celebrating love with all of you, friends and family. This is the meaning of life.”
I realized how right she was. No matter how immersed I get in my Sagittarian quest for truth…is that path really any better than this right here?
* * *
The mourning of the past is over and celebration of love is here. My heart is opening even bigger than before. I can’t change the past. All I can do is feel gratitude for being here now. I love where my life is now, and it could’ve happened differently, but I wouldn’t have the same perspective. With courage, I allow my heart to continue to open, to find forgiveness in understanding, to release heavy emotions so that I can live lighter; to nurture these great friendships that I too possess.
Driving home, I am reflecting on these truths. The trees changing color remind me of this great circle that we are so intimately apart of─ the Creator’s Vision. It’s all so vast─ the mountains, the gorges, the sky; and yet, here is little me, driving along in a temporary vehicle with my love beside me and my little sister sleeping sweetly behind me in the back seat. Contemplating this big beautiful world, I see two small butterflies chasing each other on the side of the road, oblivious to the big world around them─ and yet, they are the meaning of life. Love, freedom, beauty.
While Saturn is in Sagittarius, he is answering to Jupiter in Virgo, where you will find truth in the tree bark; you will find the Macrocosm within the Microcosm. You will find the Goddess everywhere because Creation is the highest expression of love. Wahe Guru.
