Rest Against the Machine: Cancer New Moon forecast 6/26 - 7/2/22

Galactic Greetings,

I write to you on the Summer Solstice, as Venus aligns with Algol and activates 2 eclipse degrees. While we don’t typically assign Venus as an intense eclipse triggering planet, I believe her alignment with poisonous Algol is stirring the pot in the collective. Personally, and within my social reach, this eclipse activation is extremely palpable. Can you feel it?

Anyhow, Happy Summer!!

Astrology Watch:

Mars conjunct Eris, 6/27

Cancer New Moon, 6/28

Neptune Stations retrograde, 6/28

Mars square Pluto, 7/1

Mercury trine Saturn, 7/2

Mercury square Neptune, 7/2

 Mars conjunct Eris, 6/27

Introducing Eris: the goddess of discord

Rebellious one, Defiant, with the iron taste of bloody justice in her mouth.

Eyes, seething, white hot with rage.

Swords forged in the fire of societal ostracism.

Eris is the riot girl, hurling a burning brick through the barricades of existence

“If they do not allot me a seat at the table, I will smash their table and create my own.”

Eris was discovered in 2005, yet we did not she her conjoin with an outer planet until 2016 when she partnered with Uranus – the awakener. 2016 was defined by uprisings and protests against systemic racial violence, the pink hats and the women’s marches, the Dakota Pipeline and Indigenous justice, and of course, a jarring election. Since Eris’ square with Pluto in 2020, “having a seat at the table” has become common vernacular, particularly in relation to racial and gender inequalities.

Today, Eris joins with her brother and battle companion Mars – all the sharper in his Aries domicile. This combination is eruptive, seething and vengeful. I suspect we will see some sort of public outrage or demonstration throughout this week, as Mars effectively agitates the Eris-Pluto square, a combination striving to upend systemic injustice and create new paradigms of empowerment in the process.

Cancer New Moon, 6/28, 7°22 Cancer’

The Cancer new moon beckons us to the inner flame of rest, restoration and self-care. Floating in a square to Jupiter, nourishing rituals seem even more necessary due to excess and overdoing. If it all feels so overwhelming right now, rest. Jupiter in Aries is a choose-your-own adventure catalyst, spurring us toward the unknown edges of our curiosity. Taking time to lay down and take deep belly breaths positions us to receive Jupiter-sized perspectives on life. Rest. Expand your lungs, make space in your mind and body, creating a rejuvenating expansiveness in your spirit.

Neptune is stationing retrograde today, doubling down on the space-cadet urge to check-out. The Cancer New Moon wants us to create our own private oasis where external stressors cannot reach us. The Cancer New Moon gives us permission to insulate ourselves in a dream-space. One cannot draw from an empty well. This is your invitation to recharge.

With the Moon in her domicile, I suspect we will see the availability of baby formula begin to steadily increase hereafter. Fingers crossed!

Mars square Pluto, 7/1

Piggybacking on the Mars-Eris conjunction earlier in the week, Mars’ square to Pluto tends to be volatile, eruptive, and vile. Mars-Pluto can facilitate powerful eruptions of energetic and emotional release. Cry, scream, let it out! If you’ve been holding something in for a long time, this aspect will conjure the storm cloud of release.

It’s also a good idea to sweat. Maybe you can pinpoint the source of the magma churning in your belly – maybe it’s been building for years, maybe it’s not even personal – maybe it’s the cost of gas and groceries. Regardless, many of us will feel more prone to dynamic outbursts. Find healthy emotional and energetic outlets this week!

Mars’ square to Pluto is a powerhouse. Do you have a major project calling you? This aspect can move the heavens and earth to initiate something into action. Move the energy and make it happen!

Mercury trine Saturn, 7/2

Mercury square Neptune, 7/2

Puzzle Cube

Too many variables in the story to string it together in a coherent way? There might be a puzzle we are attempting to crack under this inherently puzzling combo of planets.

Mercury in Gemini is willing to entertain all of the facets in the kaleidoscope viewer – but with an overwhelming square to Neptune, it’s become so disorienting that it’s difficult to discern up from down. An ocean of options might make things interesting, but it doesn’t offer clarity.

Saturn stives to bring order, grounded perspective and discerning clarity. As qualified as we may be to decipher the code, the conundrum might be too great. Neptune reminds us that we are not guaranteed answers to the greatest querries of life. Mercury in Gemini reminds us to stay curious and stay humble – you can be a “know-it-all,” but no one actually does.
