Jupiter in Aries: Sovereign Pathcarving

The year of my second Jupiter Return in Aries, I did some brave things. I joined my first ayahuasca ceremony where I found myself purging alone in the bathroom. I was encouraged to emmerge and join the rest of the group. When I looked up, I saw brilliant Jupiter lingering near the constellation of Aries at the Zenith - in the exact place of my own nativity. I felt at one with nature… with the cosmos. I spent a lot of time in the woods that year communing with spirit and discovering new facets of existing. I felt open and free - and I’ve carried these experiences with me for the past 11 years.

If you too have Jupiter in Aries, then you will be experiencing your Jupiter return this year too! Jupiter returns happen every 12 years. Don’t place too much emphasis on the exact degree of your natal Jupiter. The Jupiter return lasts for the entire duration of Jupiter’s journey through the sign. And a journey it will be! Jupiter return years are characterized by growth, expansion, and creating new possibilities. Depending on the condition of your natal Jupiter, luck may find you in its own special way.

Jupiter in Aries:

  • May 10th, 2022 – October 28th, 2022*

  • December 20th, 2022 – May 16th, 2023

Jupiter leaves the oceanic cloud palace of Pisces (the sign of its domicile), but not to worry – Jupiter is still hella juicy in Aries. Ripe with lust for adventure and sovereignty, coupled with a brazen outspokenness, Jupiter in Aries empowers us to never hold back from our own fire.

Holding the privilege of Triplicity, Jupiter is the nocturnal ruler of the fire element, positioning Jupiter’s capacity to deliver the goods. Inspiration, courage and the volition of the confidently self-made, Jupiter in Aries is armed with a radical inner strength. Give yourself permission to deviate from the trodden path. Jupiter in Pisces reminded us to trust our inner compass. Jupiter in Aries gives us the push into the wild unknown. What is the brave, exciting venture calling you to explore?

While Jupiter in Pisces dropped us into our feelings and called us to look within, Jupiter in Aries gives us confidence and courage to voice our truth.

No risk, no gain. As Christropher Renstrom has pointed out, those who have Jupiter in Aries natally want to take big risks and they want to do it all by themselves. Whether victorious or failed, Jupiter in Aries understands that they alone are responsible. There is something reassuring about that. Our dreams won’t always spontaneously spring forth from the Fountain of Life – but we can attempt to climb when the inspiration strikes. Don’t wait. Act now.

Jupiter in Aries thrives on personal discovery – the kind you cannot be taught from a book. One must strike out on their own to procure the fruit.

Unique Highlights:

  • Jupiter will not aspect any of the outer planets by degree - completely averse to Uranus in Taurus, Neptune in Pisces and toward the end, Saturn in Pisces. Jupiter will miss degree-based aspects to Saturn in Aquarius and Pluto in Capricorn. Complementing its own nature, Jupiter in Aries is a largely soverign transit

  • Jupiter conjoins the solar eclipse of 4/20/23 (29°50’ Aries), spotlighting the transit in a big way

  • Jupiter will spend a total of 26 days on the Aries Point (the world axis)

  • Jupiter in Aries disposits to Mars. Of Jupiter’s 10-month journey through Aries, Mars will spend 6 of those months in Gemini, lending strong influence toward books (and the banning of them), literacy, technology, social media, and schools.

Beliefs:

The sharp polarization in today’s socio-political climate will be accentuated under this transit. Jupiter in Aries emboldens radical statements. Everyone has their own truth, and Jupiter in Aries discourages allegiance to, let’s say, one’s political party. We will see more fearless expressions under Jupiter in Aries, perhaps pushing the pendulum even further in either direction. In some ways, this will be liberating. Many of us have grown overly conscientious of censoring ourselves to avoid the bandwagon blaze of cancel-culture. Many are concerned about freedom of speech in an increasingly oligarchal society. Yes, I’m talking about Elon Musk’s whimsical purchase of Twitter.

Strong opinions will characterize this transit, some of them hellbent on swaying the law to uphold them.

Judgements:

With Jupiter spending a total of 26 days at the first degree of Aries (0°), we can expect to see judgements which create a clap heard around the world. Currently, as I write this article, Johnny Depp’s character defamation case against ex-wife Amber Heard is making larger than expected waves – competing with headlines about insurrectionist Marjorie Taylor Green’s qualifications to hold democratic office, and potentially an even bigger case, the New York Attorney General’s civil investigation into Trump’s financial affairs. Trump is still at large for his role in the storming of the Capitol. The investigation is still ongoing. Jupiter on the Aries point is expected to magnify this case.

Simultaneously, legislative threats to Roe v Wade endanger those with uterus’ access to safe medical procedures. Between anti-trans legislation and the bills slated to censor sexual orientation and critical race theory in schools, Jupiter in Aries promises to enlarge these stories. Jupiter in Aries encourages us all to speak up.

With Mars in Gemini governing over half of Jupiter’s stay in Aries, the banning of books referencing these topics is also going to be a big theme. Courtroom decisions and legislature will prove to be a striking emblem of this transit.

Weapons and Warfare:

Jupiter in Aries answers to Mars, our planetary patron of battle. We can expect to see a magnification of the topics of weapons and warfare. As I write this overview, Russian forces continue attack Ukraine. Simultaneously, sanctions on Russia introduce new forms of technological warfare. Which spurs the question of what warfare could look like in a technical age? Mars in Gemini will have a lot to say about this, as Gemini shares affinity with social media, gadgets and information. Indeed, hacking as well.

As a twisted aside, this planetary concoction suggests virtual reality avatars. I just deleted FB, as I have no desire to partake in a weird VR experiment.

In the United States, several state lawmakers have recently allowed easier pathways toward procuring weaponry. Here in Ohio, we have abandoned our 8-hour firearm training courses and background checks despite an endemic of violence and school shootings. A new unsettling statistic replaces motor vehicles with weaponry as the number one killer of children. This will certainly become a louder debate while Jupiter travels through Aries.

Note the Mars-Jupiter conjunction in Aries on May 29th. Mutually empowering, Jupiter is well resourced by passionate, impulsive and trigger-happy Mars. Further, Jupiter gasses Mars up. This is a recipe for bold actions fueled by conviction. This is nerving and provocative on a global level with looming threats of nuclear wars. However, this alignment is poignant on a personal level, where we can tap into a fierce inspiration to do something incredibly brave!

Jupiter makes it to 8°43’ Aries before stationing retrograde on July 28th, 2022.

A key moment for Jupiter and Mars arrives toward the end of October:

Just as Jupiter retrogrades back into Pisces on 10/28/22, ceasing dispositorship to Mars and returning unto his sovereign self, Mars stations retrograde in Gemini, effectively pulling back and returning sword to sheath.

Around this date (10/25/22), we have a solar eclipse at 2°00 Scorpio, which will cast its ominous shadow over Russia. Simultaneously, it will conjoin Putin’s alleged ascendant and Biden’s 6H Moon. This is expected to be a highly significant time both in Russia and here in the States. For more info, check out my eclipse webinar.

While the forecast for October’s end is still unfocused from our current stance, this current eclipse season (spring 2022) will surely illuminate some clues as to how it may play out in the fall.

Let Jupiter in Aries be your inspiration to pursue a new froniter,

Give yourself permission. You answer to no one but you.

Possibilites await… Go for it!

Big Blessings,

Catherine
